Join or lead a flock

Join from the Flocks menu or an invite, then use the private chat, member teleport, and the shared base once the leader builds one.

Join

  1. Open Flocks on the bottom bar.
  2. Read the list in your current server. Each entry shows a name and a color.
  3. If the flock limits species, switch to an allowed bird before you join.
  4. Press Join on an unlocked flock.

Leaders can also invite you. Invites only arrive if flock invite requests are on in settings. The prompt names the flock. Accepting joins you even when the public list is locked.

A community flock reference lists a 20-character name limit and the same twelve name colors used for roleplay names. If the box rejects a longer name, shorten it.

What members get

  • An overhead flock name and rank.
  • A chat channel only members see.
  • Teleport to the flock base, with no extra confirm popup, after a base exists.
  • Teleport to a member who has player teleport enabled in their settings.
  • Leave, at any time.

The base is a large nest no matter how small the bird that placed it is. Personal nest teleport still asks you to confirm. Base teleport does not.

Leaders and custom roles

The creator is the leader. Leaders can invite, kick, ban, shout a banner to members, lock the flock, limit which species may join, and promote someone else to leader. Promoting yourself down happens automatically when you hand the role off. Deleting the flock removes everyone.

A flock nest requires at least two members. The leader uses Create a Flock Nest at their feet. Coloring that base still needs Very Important Bird.

Custom roles can be given their own name and color. Useful toggles are Joinable, Invite Players, Make Shouts, Edit Nest, and Manage Bans. Turn Joinable off on staff ranks so members cannot grant those powers to themselves.

If you cannot join

  • The flock is locked. You need an invite.
  • Your species is not on the allow list.
  • Invite requests are disabled in settings.
  • The roleplay host turned off member-made flocks or limited them to hosts.

Console players cannot view flock names because of platform rules on user-made text. PC and mobile can.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get Feathers in Feather Family?

Stay active in a server. The documented rate is 5 Feathers every 90 seconds, and the wallet stops at 10,000 until you spend some. Feathers are not sold for Robux.

Are there working Feather Family promo codes?

No public promo-code string was found on the experience page, in the developer Q&A, or in the collected code index. The Fossil Lab keypad is a different, per-server door code.

How do you fly?

On a flying species that is old enough, press Q on PC, tap the wing button on mobile, or press Y or Triangle on console. Press the same control again to land. Eggs and flightless species cannot take off.

What did the Burrowing Owl update add?

The experience page lists a Burrowing Owl skin, a Night Vision toggle for owls, nightjars, and Peryton, Halloween decorations in the Village, a chat-bubble icon for roleplay hosts who can chat, and remodeled adult heads for the Great Horned Owl and Barn Owl.

Is there an official Discord?

No. GoldenAviary has said official news stays on Roblox and that there is no official Discord. Join the Roblox group The Feather Family for the fan tag and group announcements.
