The Fossil Lab under Ice Mountain has a numeric keypad. The number is generated for the server you are in. A code posted online, or whispered from another server, will not open your door. Quizzes in the lab do not pay Feathers.
Read this server's tablet
- Open Teleport and choose Fossil Lab.
- Walk toward the locked vault door.
- Turn right into the corridor.
- Go to the center of that hall.
- Turn left, then immediately left again into the side passage.
- Read the digital tablet in that alcove.
- Return to the vault keypad and enter those digits.
If the door stays shut, you are on a stale number. Read the tablet again instead of retrying a code from a video.
What the lab is for
The lab is the story location for Summer of Fossils birds. Penguin researchers, chalkboards, and journals sit inside. Prehistoric species themselves are bought with Feathers from the unlock menu. You do not need the vault open to purchase a Dodo or an Argentavis.
The next Summer of Fossils is announced for June 2027, then June 2029. New fossil species in those events are limited to the eumaniraptoran line. That schedule is a developer plan, not a bird you can unlock today.
Large pass birds such as Phoenix or Griffin may not fit through Desert burrows because of collision size. The lab corridors are built for the penguin facility. If you get stuck, teleport back out and switch to a smaller bird.
